When Less is More
It’s always hard to know when you have drawn or written enough. Do you need those extra details in the background? Does that character need to say that line? This is yet another area I’m working on still. I get a lot of help by talking to my wife and asking her to compare different versions of the script or the comic to see which works better.
This comic is one of those times that I altered my original version ever so slightly. The original, posted below, has two words in the first panel and Chase commenting in the fourth panel. My wife suggested that I remove those lines and see how I liked it. Surprisingly, I thought it worked better. That’s not always the case, but sometimes, less truely is more.
